I met Kara and Austin at Cafe Carolina in Cameron Village to talk out the details of their big day. They are high school sweethearts, avid NC State fans, and have an amazing charisma together. I couldn’t wait for October 22nd to come around to shoot their wedding day at the beautiful historical venue, the Matthews House in downtown Cary.
Here are my highlights of this day:
- Kara made the flower arrangements AND the napkins! She works at a fabric company and is pretty talented.
- While shooting the ceremony a walnut fell two inches from me, barely missing my head. It took everything in me to not shriek while the minister prayed. Kara saw it happen and started laughing. It was rather funny.
- Right after the ceremony, Austin and Kara exited to the side of the house behind some hedges and I got to capture some of the most candid reactions to just tying the knot, and it was amazing.
- Kara and her mom danced together and man, those classy ladies got moves.
Austin and Kara, your wedding day was beautiful. You brought faith, friends and family into a beautifully blended celebration. We wish you the best!
