As November comes to a swift close, I’m ringing in the last of the fall mini shoots. I find myself walking away from each family inspired, having learned how each one works and loves differently. It was a rich experience spending a half hour with this bunch. In between shots, we celebrated a couple of lost teeth, passed around an abundance of skittles, and laughed at knock-knock jokes. While it was an absolute blast, something more than a sweet gap in a little boy’s smile or perfect fall colors in the background struck me. This afternoon I was reminded that the best things, the binding things like love and trust, can’t be seen. And the ability to see doesn’t mean that we can receive or give love any better than those who cannot. In fact, I think that blindness to the physical might actually make room for a keener sense of the intangible like security in each other and a trusting love.
Thank you for letting me be a part of your day Armstrong family! It was an absolute pleasure taking their pictures.
