Tobi and Spencer
It was sort of like a blind date. I had only spoken to Tobi for a few brief minutes over the phone, and i’m sure they really had no idea what to expect from me or this engagement photo experience as they made their way from Charlotte. We met at the Old Well, the center of Spencer’s alma mater. The leaves had just turned, so the oranges, reds, and yellows were fresh and vibrant.
It’s so important to remember that just as everybody’s personalities are unique and different, so are a couple’s chemistry. I know we drool and gawk over those steamy photos where a couple is giving each other light kisses on their shoulders and have their arms folded over each other like spaghetti in that moody light and slouchy sweaters with the perfectly curated wooden floors and shiplap walls, but for most of us, that’s not what our Friday date night looks like. A snapshot of you and your significant other looks a lot more, well, attainable. It looks like teasing each other for that odd little habit you have when you eat ice cream. It’s dry humor and snort laughing. Its rolling eyes when they make that joke for umpteenth time. It looks a little bit like this.
Thanks Spencer and Tobi for sharing your goofy and incredibly fun relationship with me. I wish you guys all the best!
