Karissa and Justin

I’m going to humble myself and just tell you right now that this session had a rough start, at no fault of Karissa and Justin. In fact, these two were incredibly gracious and kind. Due to malfunctions on both of our GPS, we had trouble finding each other (Dorothea Dix has several entrances and photographic areas). Finally, after driving around we located each other and I took out my camera to begin. But alas, my camera would not turn on. No problem. Just a dead battery. I have two back ups in the car. I tried both. Nothing. My camera (which has been working ten minutes before spontaneously developed a power short). I’d like to note that not having a working camera at any kind of shoot (wedding or otherwise) had never happened to me (I almost always pack an extra camera). I had to have the hard conversation to tell them I had to run home to get a camera. My heart was racing and I was close to just bursting into tears, but these two simply said “no problem, let’s push through and do this.” And we did. And i’m so glad we did. By the time I got the camera (thankfully only took me 15 minutes to get it) a storm rolled through and left us with the most dreamy, moody, and romantic backdrop for Justin, Karissa, and her beautiful bump. All I can say is i’m thankful for kind clients, lessons learned from hiccups, and waiting for that gooooood light.

I’m late to the party in blogging this, because little Bruce is on this side of the belly, but I think we all need to take a moment to look at how stunning Karissa is.
