Vanessa and Ryan

Shooting Vanessa and Ryan's wedding was such a treat. There were so many sincere and meaningful moments that made up the fabric of this amazing day. The first scene that is etched in my head is when Vanessa's sister was helping her get in her wedding dress and she was talking through one of her trips overseas, sharing a story about how her favorite photos from the trip was when she relaxed and softened into her natural self.  Then there was the camaraderie shared by the girls playing pool as they waited for the ceremony to take place is the second scene that comes to mind. Once the ceremony started, I was so enraptured with Ryan's anticipation. His joyful tears at seeing Vanessa for the first time was incredible to behold and her contagious and nervous giggle floated throughout the whole ceremony. 

The rest of the night breezed by, full of celebratory dancing, toasting, and lawn games. One of my favorite things was to capture Vanessa, Ryan, and both their parents go around to each table. Following Chinese tradition, the families greeted each guest and toasted to them, really emphasizing their part they played in supporting the newly formed couple. Truly, it was a night to remember. I'm so thankful for clients like these ones. Congratulations Ryan and Vanessa!
