Jared and Mary
I have been looking forward to this weekend for awhile. Not only did we get to spend a beautiful weekend in the mountains, which is my husband's very favorite place to be, but we had the privilege of capturing that thrilling, knee-weakening, ecstatic moment of some good friends. Jared was in our wedding, and Mary caught my bouquet. Anyone who knows them can agree they are incredible together. Jared had everything planned seamlessly, playing the weekend off as a quick vacation to see good friends (who just happen to do photography). Seeing me with a camera around my neck is a pretty common sight. I took pictures of all the peaks and crags on our hike up to Mount Mitchell...nothing out of the ordinary. Jesse and I ACTUALLY got on the other side of the camera...which as you can imagine never happens. On the drive up, I could sense the anticipation, but Jared didn't skip a beat. To Mary it was just a hike with friends, a bear sighting and sandwiches on the side of a mountain.
When we finally conquered Mount Mitchell, we were chilly and rather wind-blown, but we were here at the pinnacle of the weekend. It was so windy that neither Jesse or I heard a single thing Jared said when he dropped to his knee, but it's better that way. It was their moment. All we could hear was the loud exclamation coming from Mary, "Yes!!". After that it was all smiles. The wind may have destroyed any hopes of a glamorous hair day, but the vastness of the surrounding mountains and their sheer joy has enough beauty as it is.
Congratulations you guys! We love you.
