Ross and Linda
Meeting Ross and Linda felt like getting together with long-lost friends. They were so easy to get to know and such wonderful people to work with. Ross, a scientist, and Linda, a teacher, wanted to keep their wedding within a reasonable budget. That, however, didn't mean that it was lacking class, beauty and meaning. I really love seeing weddings like these. I fall in love with the simplicity. A wedding is still a wedding without a glamorous budget and all the trimmings. Walking onto the venue was like walking into Frances Burnett's Secret Garden, tucked behind hedges, viney trees and budding sprigs on NC State’s own arboretum. Ross and Linda valued their family and their faith over anything, desiring their day to reflect just that. They forewent the expense of a wedding party and an extensive reception and instead had their dearest friends and family over for a Sunday morning ceremony and brunch. They put a lot of time and care into preparing everything themselves including the food, flowers, programs, and decorations. In fact, Linda, owner of the budding custom watercolor and calligraphy design company-- Linda Creative, crafted her entire invitation suite and favors (which were quotes and lyrics that resonated with her and Ross's relationship). The bride’s friends did her hair and make up. The groom's aunt was the wedding coordinator. The whole affair was literally two families pulling together as one. It may seem simple or even lackluster, but the simplicity of it makes more room for the bear and very dedicated love that Ross and Linda have for each other. I wish you guys the best. Thank you for having us.
