Joanna
I met Joanna at the Elemental Workshop that I co-hosted and taught at last year. At the time, she was a brand new photographer, quiet but hungry to learn. Over the past year, it has truly been a delight to watch her explore different light sources and colors in her work. She does an excellent job bringing warmth into her art. She tells incredibly expressive stories of her subjects in the way she captures their natural vivacity and expressions. Her neutral tones that draw focus to the people, their eyes, their hearts, in her images.
I shot these just before we were put on quarantine stay-at-home, and it was great to be behind the camera and Lightroom before retiring it for a couple of months. I admire Joanna’s courage to get herself in front of the camera, because I know how comfortable we can get when we are behind it and that is easy to forget the discomfort of having your pictures taken.
Go check out this lovely lady’s portraits, and then when you’re done, check out her own work here!
